Plural Nouns That Appear In Singular Form

There are some nouns that are plural in sence but Singular in form. These nouns do not end in 'S' yet they suggest plural ideas. Therefore, they should be used with plural verbs. Examples include:
1. Police
2. Clergy
3. Cattle
4. Vermin
5. Youth (we could also have 'youth' as in, 'three youth were killed in the riot')
6. The old
7. The less privileged
8. The young
9. The rich
10. The needy
